We understand that from time to time things are going to crop up that will prevent our students from being able to attend their regularly scheduled remote or in-person piano/keyboard lessons.
Like the vast majority of schools for which tuition is paid, such as a private school or a college or university, the tuition that is paid for the enrollment of the student(s) in your home is for their enrollment in our program and is not adjusted based on attendance of the student.
While this is the case, please know that all of our staff including Scott and Kathy are all pretty good about offering options to make up missed time.
In addition, major holidays may be taken off at the family's option at no charge.
There is also no charge if for any reason your family's assigned instructor must cancel a lesson and is unable to make up the missed time and in cases like these you may also simply forego any options offered and take the credit instead.
All of these details are disclosed ahead of time, not only in the initial e-mail that is sent to your family when your first inquired about lessons, but also in the e-mail that is sent out once you have agreed to go forward under our terms following your free meet & greet.
Please note that our staff is not responsible for relaying messages about or discussing policy or requests for billing adjustments etc.
The staff employed by Scott and Kathy simply teach the lessons and prepare students for recitals and attend those to support their students.
As a courtesy for busy families, Scott or Kathy will text you a monthly reminder (or two) regarding your monthly tuition payment.
Please keep in mind that some months may be different due to the regular lesson day for the student(s) in your home occurring 5 times in the same month.
We are happy to have the popular apps - CashApp, Zelle and Venmo available as payment options - in addition to accepting check or cash as well.
As of April 2024, receiving a text receipt after your payment will become a regular routine aspect of our operations.
We ask that you make a regular monthly payment prior to the receipt of the first lesson in a new month.
Please do not misinterpret a text regarding the tuition balance due for a new month as a demand for immediate payment.
These are intended simply to keep our business office and our clients organized regarding your account with us.
While Scott and Kathy as well as the rest of the teaching staff are good about offering options for make-up lessons, there is no guarantee that these will work out, nor do they negate your commitment to paying for the enrollment of the students in your home.
Two options that we highly recommend, however are, as possible, adding 15 minutes to subsequent lessons after a student absent or "banking" a missed lesson for up to a few months and then scheduling a make up during a school break in the case where your assigned instructor may be flexible to do an earlier time when school is out of session.
Although we do not recommend extended breaks from lessons during the summer months, you may at your option withdraw the student(s) in your home (or yourself) from lessons for a period of 4 weeks or longer at no charge, but it is solely at your instructor's discretion whether or not to reserve your family's space in their schedule during the extended absence of the student(s) in your home at a time that your instructor is no longer receiving the compensation that they normally do when the student(s) in your home are actively taking lessons.
